Loved ones, colleagues mourn FDNY supervising fire marshal
Briefly

Hundreds of uniformed FDNY members attended Snyder's funeral at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan, including Mayor Eric Adams and newly appointed Fire Commissioner Robert S. Tucker.
Mayor Adams highlighted Snyder's commitment, saying, 'He served in the greatest fire department in the history of this country,' recognizing the sacrifice of Snyder's mother.
'It is now time for our department to blanket his family in the honor and compassion he showed us every day,' stated Fire Commissioner Tucker.
Colleagues called George Snyder Jr. 'Georgie,' noting his dedication to making New York a safer place and his heroism over more than two decades.
