Rex Heuermann, accused in the Gilgo Beach serial killings, was indicted Thursday for the murders of two additional women, Jessica Taylor and Sandra Costilla, whose cases were not previously linked to the investigation.
Investigators recently completed searches in Manorville and Southampton linked to the victims, signaling renewed efforts in the long-standing Gilgo Beach investigation dating back to 2010.
