Police have called the Gilgo Beach murders 'one of the most consequential homicide investigations' in Long Island's history.
New York City architect Rex Heuermann has been charged with the murders of four victims, known as the 'Gilgo Four'.
Heuermann was charged with two more murders in 2024, including one dating back to 1993.
