The French film star Gerard Depardieu repeatedly punched Rino Barillari, known as the king of paparazzi, at Harry's Bar on the Via Veneto. Witness Gianni Riotta likened the scene to a time machine reminiscent of La Dolce Vita's setting. Lawyers for Depardieu didn't respond immediately.
Depardieu intervened in a situation where the photographer allegedly pushed a woman accompanying him, leading to the physical altercation. Delphine Meillet, the woman's lawyer, stated that the photographer had violently pushed her client, and the woman planned to sue him.
