Disbarred lawyer Douglas Raymond Arntsen sentenced to nine years in prison for defrauding the government of $1.4M in COVID-19 relief funds.
Arntsen recruited others to submit false loan applications, involving individuals with no connections to the businesses, to defraud the Small Business Administration.
Arntsen, previously remorseful for stealing $10.7M from clients, disregarded the lesson as evident by his recent criminal activities.
U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel remarked that Arntsen 'has not gotten the message' to refrain from stealing during the latest sentencing hearing.
