Shawn Moayer, a 34-year-old man from Hayward, has been arrested for the city's 10th homicide of the year following the shooting of Matthew Beck, 36.
The investigation revealed that Moayer's 59-year-old father was also arrested for aiding and concealing Moayer to prevent his arrest after the homicide.
Police Chief Bryan Matthews expressed sympathy for the victim's family, stating, 'We hope these arrests mark a meaningful step in their journey toward healing and justice for Mr. Beck.'
The fatal shooting of Matthew Beck occurred at around 3:25 p.m. on August 26, leading to swift identification of Moayer as the main suspect.
