"The unimaginable pain of having your 5-year-old and 9-year-old sons killed by a drunk driver is something from which you can never recover," said Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer, highlighting the tragic cycle of loss experienced by Hernandez-Cazares due to DUI incidents.
"Hernandez-Cazares, 42, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and child neglect in the death of her 3-year-old daughter, Ily Ruiz," the Orange County DA's office stated, outlining the serious nature of the charges relating to the loss of her child.
"Doctors believe Ily had been dead for several hours before she was discovered," emphasizing the tragic circumstances surrounding the child's death due to her mother's severe intoxication and negligence.
"When Hernandez-Cazares arrived at a hospital, she had a blood alcohol content level of .30, nearly four times the legal (driving) limit," stressing the severity of her condition and irresponsibility at the time of the incident.
