2 men charged with destroying ancient rock formations at Nevada lake

Two men were charged with toppling ancient sandstone formations at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, recorded on video during their vandalism of government property.
The indictment specifies that the two suspects, aged 31 and 37, were caught on video on April 7 pushing massive sandstone rocks off a cliff.
The Redstone Dune Trail where the incident occurred features unique red-hued sandstone which is believed to have been sand dunes 40 million years ago.
Following the incident, the National Park Service reached out to the public for information, highlighting the importance of community assistance in identifying the vandals.
