"It's nice. The whole place used to be an industrial wasteland for the longest time. With kids and everything, it's nice to have a place you can bring them over." Mohammed Khan reveals his relief and joy in having a family-friendly park that transforms a previously unused industrial area into a vibrant community space.
"The city has reclaimed it and given it back to the community to use," Chow highlighted during the ceremony, emphasizing the park's role in revitalizing the Port Lands by transforming underutilized land into a public asset.
"The park helps connect people living in the city to the Port Lands and the Leslie Spit," Chow stated, showcasing the importance of Leslie Lookout Park in enhancing accessibility and community engagement in the area.
"The park is also designed with asphalt that absorbs stormwater, meaning it doesn't rely on the city's stormwater system," Chow explained, discussing the environmentally friendly design that aims to mitigate flooding in urban areas.
