The new enterprise multifamily lease standards align with our mission to expand access to housing that is both affordable and sustainable, Michele Evans, executive vice president and head of multifamily at Fannie Mae, said in a statement.
These announcements provide additional details on how the Enterprises will work with housing providers to implement these protections at Enterprise-backed multifamily properties, said FHFA Director Sandra Thompson.
The policy takes effect with new loans under application starting in February 2025, and includes minimum standards for tenant leases.
