City Council asserts advise-and-consent process on Randy Mastro nomination

As the top attorney for New York City, the Corporation Counsel has the special responsibility of representing all of City government, which includes its agencies and all elected officials...will perform its charter-mandated responsibility to consider the nominee within 30 days."
Last week, The NYC Council filed its advice-and-consent ballot question with the NYC Board of Elections. If the question makes it to ballot, voters will get to decide on Election Day whether the appointment of 20 additional agency commissioners should require the advice-and-consent of the council - taking their appointments out of the hands of the mayor.
