The bill bans discussions of gender identity and sexual orientation in all grade levels, K-12, and in extracurricular and athletic settings, with an exception for topics in the approved curriculum.
State Rep. Dodie Horton admitted the bill would also block discussions of heterosexuality and cisgender identity; she believes such personal discussions between educators and students are inappropriate.
