"All of the ELO songs I chose are the darker, lonelier, more disconnected songs, I think, lyrically. That's what I was relating to the most," she says.
"There's a lot of violent imagery on that record," Hatfield acknowledges. "I didn't plan on it, and the title of the album came after I'd recorded everything and I was looking at all the songs and thinking, 'Wow. There's a lot of blood on this album.'"
