'Eternal Sunshine'
Briefly

Ariana's done two albums that are sort of two halves of a whole, right? This is not Touch My Body, I like that. It's not a career year for her, probably, even if she's gonna win a Grammy and sell a bazillion albums and make all this money on tour. But I'd be curious, because I feel the response to this is a little quieter than we've seen in the past for her, but the quality is still her doing her thing with the people she works with, and I'll be curious to see how that evolves.
There's a couple songs like Just Look Up, and the closer, Main Thing, and all that, that I think are about [her relationship with the press]. And they almost certainly are. Because if it was all, 'So-and-so broke my heart,' like we saw last time, I think it would've been a little bit more clear. But there's some of that, There's some of turning it back around on herself, and there's some of, 'You guys are driving me crazy and I just can't deal with it anymore.'
The pop song isn't what's on the radio right now. The TikTok song is what's on the radio right now. She's still no. 1 with the teenagers. Kids playlists on Spotify, boom, there she is. She did Coachella... The positioning moment of like, this is a stadium tour show. She's still one of the top pop stars going. Maybe it's just that the everyday listens of this, there's not one that's gonna pop like they were built to pop. It was very much a performer's record.
