British rockers Squid bring their 'twisted, 21st-century jazz' to D.C.
Briefly

"I recorded the drums and the vocals separately," Judge notes. "On the last album, I could play and sing everything simultaneously. But on this album, there's a lot more going on in terms of time signatures. I just wasn't there yet."
The British music press has dubbed Squid's style "post-punk," which bemuses Judge. "It's just a lack of a way to describe something," he says. "I think we'd probably lean toward being called some sort of twisted, 21st-century jazz."
