Apple sued in EU because other music services are too expensive
Briefly

Euroconsumers has filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple in four European countries, arguing that Apple's 30% App Store fee raises costs for music streaming services like Spotify and YouTube Music, resulting in higher prices for consumers.
According to Euroconsumers, Apple’s practices mean iOS consumers are paying up to €3 more to cover losses incurred by streaming services due to Apple's commission structure, amounting to €259 million in 'unfair profits'.
The lawsuit seeks to reclaim overpaid fees for over 500,000 consumers in Belgium, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, highlighting the financial burden Apple’s App Store fees impose on streaming companies.
While Apple Music does not pay the 30% fee, the lawsuit asserts that other music streaming services have increased their charges to offset Apple's commission, which they allege misrepresents the true cost of doing business on the App Store.
