MEDA to buy a building near 16th St. BART for 100 percent affordable housing
Briefly

MEDA is converting a four-story building into 62 units of permanent affordable housing in San Francisco, with options for current tenants to remain during rehabilitation.
Future tenants will have diverse unit options, including single-room occupancy units, studios, and one-bedroom units, with an income target of 80% area median income. Section 8 voucher holders are welcome.
Current tenants' rent adjustments are uncertain if they choose to stay post-rehabilitation. There will be an on-site property manager unit, and commercial spaces on the ground floor will remain unchanged.
MEDA is awaiting city approval for a loan to finalize the purchase, after which they will disclose the total cost of the project. The organization is in contract pending approval.
