Sideshows, which are unsanctioned car-related stunt shows, are a growing concern for Mission community members, leading to increased traffic issues and safety risks.
Captain Liza Johansen emphasized that unlike prior years, police now have a more structured approach to address sideshows, bolstered by new legislation enhancing penalties.
According to SFPD data, 29 stunt shows have been reported this year, with 10 occurring in the Mission, primarily on Sundays, highlighting community concerns.
Johansen encourages community input on tackling sideshows, signifying a proactive approach and emphasizing her availability as a resource for local residents.
