Older Australians will have access to 24,000 new home care places to support them staying in their own house rather than entering aged care.
$2.2bn package includes 29 Medicare urgent care clinics, frozen prescription medicine prices, $882m to states for hospital programs, and a new national online mental health service.
Federal budget will not include aged care taskforce's funding sustainability suggestions yet, but focuses on $531.4m for additional home care packages, $610m to address older patients in hospitals, and $57m for dementia care.
$1.4bn for digital technology systems, $111m towards Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, $88.4m in Fair Work Commission wages decision for care workers.
