Since May 7, Israel has been blocking all medical evacuations from Gaza, worsening the already dire situation. The closure of the Rafah crossing has further trapped thousands in need of medical care.
"Egypt has been hosting a significant number of the patients, but there are still between 7,000 to over 11,000 patients who require urgent evacuation and treatment," mentioned Hanan Balkhy from WHO.
