A new consortium called the Ad Context Protocol (AdCP) unites ad tech and AI ad software vendors to create standard protocols enabling agentic solutions across the advertising supply chain. Founding companies include major publishers and ad tech firms, each committing time, resources and a $10,000 annual budget, while other launch members pledge smaller commitments. The protocols intend to let advertisers issue natural-language campaign prompts that agentic systems route to publisher and platform agents, enabling automated responses with inventory packages and audience matches and letting publishers surface unique data and direct-sales capabilities.
