As part of the aggressive cost-cutting measure Musk dramatically slashed Tesla's marketing team, ditching the entire U.S. 'growth content team.' It's a surprising move, given that he gave the go-ahead for a marketing push less than a year ago.
Musk simply explained that he didn't approve of the quality of the group's output: 'The ads were far too generic,' he noted, adding 'could've been any car.' That is certainly a damning accusation from a CEO that likes to do things so differently.
