Over 800 complaints made in five weeks about influencers' potential failing to declare ads on social media
Briefly

The informal reporting tool was launched on November 17 to help the ASAI make contact with influencers and brands to ensure compliance.
There were 845 anonymous submissions through the new form in the five weeks since November 17 to the week before Christmas. Separately, there were 180 formal complaints made from January 1 last year, the majority relating to potential non-disclosure of paid partnerships, brand deals or other sponsorships.
Overall, the ASAI upheld 77 complaints. Of those, eight related to social media influencer advertising, because many were dealt with informally.
