A man in his mid-20s piloting a single-engine plane was critically injured after the aircraft crashed in Ventura County, sparking a fire. Authorities confirmed he was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment. The incident occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. at Santa Paula Airport. Following the crash, Santa Paula Police Chief Don Aguilar mentioned that the aircraft landed in an open yard, disturbing nearby stacked pipes and coming to a rest next to a large metal trash bin.
