Thieves have targeted nearly a dozen bronze light poles in Pasadena, some over a century old, causing significant damage and leaving behind dark divots in their wake.
Due to the historical significance of the stolen poles, replicas are being used for replacements since the originals are hard to find, highlighting the ongoing challenge.
Lisa Derderian mentioned, 'There is no easy way to vandal-proof these.' She highlighted the costly nature of the thefts, with replacement poles at $1,600 each against a scrap metal market value of around $400.
