The Mayor of London has announced the closure of the vehicle scrappage program to new applicants on September 7, citing a sharp decline in applications.
Since its launch, over 186 million has been allocated to nearly 54,000 applicants, helping residents transition to cleaner vehicles as Ulez compliance exceeds 96%.
Mr. Khan emphasized the scheme's role in improving air quality, stating that it has successfully supported many Londoners in switching to greener vehicles.
Christina Calderato highlighted the enthusiastic response to the scrappage initiative, noting that most who required assistance have already acted in compliance with Ulez.
