Landlord 'robbing safety of Wallington by ordering them to remove CCTV camera'
Briefly

Residents of the Roundshaw estate in Wallington feel safer after one resident installed a security camera following threats from an ex. Despite police advice to install it, the housing association Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing is ordering its removal due to privacy complaints from a neighbor. The resident, known as Mr J, argues that the camera serves as crucial protection against crime, especially given the area's violence. While he adjusted its angle for privacy, most neighbors support keeping the camera as a safety measure against crime, highlighting a tension between individual security and communal privacy concerns.
This camera isn't really CCTV, it's basically a glorified Ring doorbell. It was cheaper than a Ring doorbell and was needed quickly.
We told them that the majority of residents we spoke to preferred the camera to stay there as a deterrent for any criminal activities.
