This is one of the busiest stations in the country, and there would have been 20 to 30 times that amount [of passengers] on a normal day. We know from the feedback we have had around the rest of the southern region that a lot of services are not running.
I would resolve this tomorrow, Mr Whelan said. But we have no choice. Someone has decided they don't like train drivers. They don't like their conditions. They don't like their salaries. They want to create the politics of envy and a race.
