Tooting fire: 80 firefighters tackle blaze at block of flats

Two flats on the first and second floors of the three-storey building were on fire on Monday morning. Part of the roof was also alight producing a significant amount of smoke.
Around 20 people left the building before firefighters arrived. A woman and child were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Firefighters were first called to the scene at 8.37am and crews from Tooting, Wimbledon, Norbury, West Norwood and surrounding fire stations attended.
The London Fire Brigade has advised people in the area to keep their windows and doors closed. Drivers have been asked to avoid the area and expect traffic disruption.
