More than a dozen police and officers on horseback clashed with a crowd draped in England flags as they burst out of their protest area. One man appeared to strike a police horse with an umbrella near Downing Street.
Nationalists charged through police lines before the scheduled parade start. Mounted officers intervened to restore order. Face coverings were restricted in Lambeth and Westminster.
