Colin Moore, 57, of Grove Lane in Camberwell, took advantage of a girl who was under 16 when the offending began in 1995. His abuse took place over the next four years in west and central London.
Detective Sergeant Laura Harcombe described Moore as a 'sexual predator' who 'manipulated and abused a vulnerable young girl he knew', emphasizing his attempts to justify his behavior during interviews.
Moore was found guilty of four counts of rape and five counts of indecent assault, with DS Harcombe commending the victim for her courage in coming forward, and mentioning the support provided by specially trained officers.
