Aurel Surugiu, 40, of Edgware, was sentenced to 11 years for rape and sexual assault by penetration at the Old Bailey after following a woman from Burnt Oak Library to Watling Park where he raped her.
Detectives identified Surugiu through extensive CCTV trawl and financial checks on his bank card. The victim received support, and Detective Constable Pat Leonte highlighted the importance of the community's assistance in capturing Surugiu.
