Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a fatal crash at Wennington Marshes, involving two separate accidents on the A13. Both Met and Essex Police made a referral to IOPC over the response sequence.
Det Insp Julie Trodden emphasized the tragic nature of the incident, urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from around 22:00 on 15 July to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
The fatal crash occurred before police resources could reach the scene, leading to answering 999 calls by Essex Police due to the border proximity with the Met Police area.
This incident is under investigation by the Met Police's serious collision unit, prompting appeals for witnesses to aid in the investigation process.
