Most drivers hit with 180 Ulez fine since expansion have failed to pay it
Briefly

Seven in 10 drivers issued with a Ulez penalty charge since the zone expanded have failed to pay the £180 fine, leaving almost a million fines outstanding after a month, owed 218,316,553.
TfL revealed it had issued 1,348,938 Ulez fines between September 26 last year and April 26. Only 3 in 10 drivers have paid the fines, resulting in a substantial amount remaining unpaid.
TfL commissioner Andy Lord stated that the Londonwide Ulez expansion would bring significant improvements to air quality, denying claims of a 'war on the motorist,' emphasizing the goal of enhancing air quality and potentially reducing traffic congestion.
Prior to Ulez expansion approval, a consultancy report warned London Mayor Sadiq Khan that the benefits of the expanded zone might be insignificant, predicting only minimal positive effects on pollutant emissions and public health.
