More remains of murdered Croydon woman found in Mitcham river

Yesterday, human remains were discovered in the water in Mitcham by members of the public. It has now been confirmed by police that these were of 38-year-old Sarah Mayhew, whose remains were previously discovered in Rowdown Fields, New Addington on April 2.
Gemma Watts, 48, and Steven Sansom, 44, were arrested on April 6 and subsequently charged with her murder and preventing her lawful and decent burial. Both are alleged to have killed Ms Mayhew on the night of March 8.
Judge Katz set a plea hearing for June 27 and a provisional four-week trial from February 17 next year. Detective Inspector Martin Thorpe mentioned that two people arrested, known to Sarah, were charged with her murder.
Detective Inspector Martin Thorpe stated, 'At present, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death. Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information that may assist...'
