The alert covers Wales, West Midlands, South West England, London, Southeast England, and East England, with thundery showers expected to develop more widely.
In affected areas, showers may bring frequent lightning, gusty winds, potential large hail, and short spells of heavy rain; some areas may remain dry.
Forecasters predict 15-25 mm of rain could fall within an hour, with a slight chance of up to 40 mm in 3 hours, peaking in southwest England.
