Man jailed over hoax terror campaign targeting schools, Westfield shopping centres and Stansted Airport
Briefly

Gary Preston, 64, was sentenced to four years and three months in prison for sending envelopes with white powder and threats to schools, shopping centers, and businesses over a six-week period in 2013.
Preston sent 42 envelopes containing talcum powder and threatening letters with Arabic texts. One envelope led to evacuating a 303-room hotel. He pleaded guilty to 21 charges.
Apart from the terrorism-related charges, Preston received an additional five years and three months in prison for a 1988 serious indecent assault at knifepoint at a women's public toilet.
Preston's defense lawyer mentioned his cognitive decline but clarified no mental issues. The judge underlined Preston's responsibility for his actions. Preston confirmed his identity in court via video.
