Toronto police have identified Mohamed Alladin, 57, as the victim who died three days after being hit by an object in a Scarborough home, now labeled as a homicide. The suspect, a 65-year-old man initially charged with aggravated assault, is now facing a second-degree murder charge.
The incident involved an altercation between two men at a home in the area of Eglinton Avenue E. and Birchmount Road on May 16. Alladin, the victim, succumbed to his life-threatening injuries on May 19, becoming Toronto's 31st homicide victim of the year.
Both the suspect and the victim were acquainted, as confirmed by the police, who arrested the 65-year-old man at the scene. The accused was scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre following the charge upgrade.
