Bookings are required for all vans or vehicles towing trailers and, from January 1st 2024, for any vehicle bringing in DIY waste, a statement on ELWA's website read.
ELWA said this has been done to make it easier for people to use an "increased allowance" of DIY waste, which includes rubble, bathroom units and soil. It said this would also safeguard against "misuse" by those required to pay for waste disposal such as builders.
