The London Fire Brigade will soon stop attending automatic fire alarms in most non-residential buildings unless they are told a fire is definitely happening, aiming to save valuable time due to the low percentage of genuine alarms.
Deputy commissioner Charlie Pugsley stated the new policy will enable firefighters to focus more on prevention efforts like visiting vulnerable residents and communities, making fire safety checks, and operational training.
