The Met Office warns that thunderstorms and heavy showers may lead to dangerous conditions, with potential lightning strikes, flood risks, and possible travel disruptions across south and west England.
Met Office meteorologist Dan Stroud highlighted that after a period of warm weather, a significant change is approaching that will bring cooler, stormy conditions this weekend.
Forecasters expect up to 70mm of rain in the worst affected regions on Saturday, with the possibility of hail and frequent lightning accompanying the thundershowers.
Travelers are advised to plan ahead as adverse weather may result in difficult driving, train delays, and short-term power outages, particularly on Friday.
