P olice have appealed for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Ilford.Officers were called at 2am on Friday after a man attended an east London hospital with a head injury.The 31-year-old remains in a serious but stable condition, the Met said.Detectives have established the man was assaulted on Thursday evening on Richmond Road at the junction with Henley Road.
