A young man was stabbed with a terrifying machete-style weapon during a daylight brawl outside an estate agent in south east London. Passers-by watched as the victim, in his 20s, attempted to fight back against a group of at least four men on Plumstead Road, Woolwich.
One employee described the incident: 'I have never witnessed anything like that before. The size of the knife I have never seen one like it. I called the police everybody was calling them.'
Officers arrived but found no suspects, with one attacker holding a long blade seen on video. The victim was listed as being hit by the machete and stomped upon.
Met Police reported a 20% increase in knife crime offenses in 2023 compared to 2022. Despite the presence of officers and Ambulance services, suspects could not be found.
