Girl, 9, among six people shot in the space of 15 days in London

From May 29 until June 10, six people, aged between nine and 44, were left injured as a result of gun crime in separate incidents across London. The incidents were not believed to be connected. The police recorded 6,645 firearms offences in the year ending June 2023.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) highlights the importance of controlling the availability of firearms, treating it as a national priority. The agency points out the role of criminal networks in smuggling guns from Europe concealed in vehicles.
