Dublin Fire Brigade reported that North Strand firefighters were called to extinguish a truck fire on the Samuel Beckett Bridge during this morning's rush hour.
Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus and high pressure hose reels, effectively tackled the fire, leading to lane closures in both directions on the bridge.
The fire created significant traffic disruptions, contributing to severe backups on surrounding roads before the southbound lane reopened at approximately 9.30am.
As the situation unfolded, emergency responders worked diligently to control the blaze while traffic resumed in the northbound bus lane.
