Police were called to an address at Ingrave Road in Brentwood just after 3.30pm yesterday following reports of a serious assault. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to the residential street, but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Det Insp Lisa Hurrell said she appreciates how concerning this incident must be for Brentwood residents. She emphasized that officers arrived at the scene within two minutes and an arrest was made just over an hour after the report came in.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody this morning. Essex Police's Serious Crime Directorate has launched a murder investigation and is continuing their inquiries rapidly.
