Woman, 96, becomes oldest to admit causing death by dangerous driving
Briefly

June Mills, a 96-year-old woman, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after causing the death of pedestrian Brenda Joyce, 76, when her car mounted the pavement.
Defending Mills, Tom Gent explained that the accident occurred as she panicked when the accelerator pedal became stuck, leading to a reaction that fell short of safe driving standards.
Following the tragic event, Merseyside Police confirmed that Brenda Joyce was pronounced dead at the scene due to a serious head injury, while another pedestrian was injured.
Mills, who has had previous good character, is now facing sentencing, with concerns over her fitness for any community service due to her limited mobility.
