Liverpool owners close to hiring technical director involved in Darwin Nunez transfer

It was previously reported that Marques would be involved in the search for a new club and then play a role in FSG's management of that side, not directly with Liverpool.
Marques' experience in connection with City has appealed to Liverpool, as he operated in the same Manchester City staff room as former Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward.
Liverpool have already struck a deal to hire sporting director Richard Hughes from Bournemouth, with potential further hires behind the scenes at Anfield.
