It was noon on a Wednesday, in the doldrums of January. The Middle East was aflame, and Biden's approval rating was among the lowest of any President in history, but, for the moment, he was preoccupied with Donald Trump.
He passed a study off the Oval, where he keeps a rack of extra shirts, an array of notes sent in by the public, and a portrait of John F. Kennedy in a contemplative pose.
