The scenes coming out of Lebanon parallel those out of Gaza: residential areas turned to rubble as inhabitants fled, ambulances destroyed, civilians and U.N. Refugee Agency members mutilated under the guise of securing an unquantifiable degree of safety.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Lebanese citizens that Israel's conflict is with Hezbollah, asserting, 'For too long, Hezbollah has been using you as human shields.'
On Monday, air raids resulted in a reported death toll of 490 in Lebanon, the highest in one day since 2006, followed by a total of at least 550 lives lost including children.
Naim Khashish, a survivor, recounted the horror of being injured in an airstrike, stating, 'The blast fractured my ribs, broke both of my legs and tore up my skin.'
